How to Obtain Squisher

Downloading

Since the MPE programs you download from the CSL web page are in the squisher format, you will need to also have a copy of the program squisher itself in order to ultimately use your download.

Squisher is available for downloading in 2 formats

If you have the reflection product, download the reflection format.

Moving Methods (HP 3000)

Once you have downloaded squisher, move it to the HP 3000. This can be done a number of ways:

Reflections for Windows instructions:

  1. Logon to the 3000 into the account and group where you want to put the squisher program.
  2. File menu-transfer option-navigate the path to the location of squisher on your download PC.
  3. Change the "transfer type" to "labels"
  4. Type "squisher" in the "host file name" field.
  5. Press the right hand transfer button to move it - now it is on the 3000.
  6. Run squisher on the 3000.

Mac instructions:

  1. File menu - "send file" operation.
  2. Click OK on the "file transfer settings" box if you get it.
  3. Navigate to the location of squisher and click "open".
  4. Edit the name of squisher to not have an extension in the "host file" field - change "method" to "labels" - then OK. You should see it transferring now.

  4. Be sure to set up as a binary transfer mode.
  5. Transfer using the following command:
     put <local filename> squisher; code=1029; rec=128,,f,binary
(where <local filename> is the name saved by the browser)

Other methods:

  1. However you do it, be sure to move it as a 128-word (256 byte) fixed length record.

Creating Program File

After you have gotten squisher to the 3000, you need to make it a program file. Do this by:

  1. build squisher; rec=128, l, f, binary; code=prog
  2. fcopy from=<uploadname>; to=squisher
(where <uploadname> is the filename used to upload image)
