Moving the contribution to the 3000:

The first step is to get a binary from an online server. Then move the file to the HP3000 specifying a binary transfer. We will discuss 4 ways do this:
  1. Reflections for Windows Method:

From the "FILE TRANSFER" window press the "SETUP" button to get the following screen. Fill out as shown below.

Press the "ATTRIBUTES" button to get the following screen. Fill out as shown below.

  2. Reflections for MacIntosh Method:

From the "Setup" menu, select the "File Transfer" item. The following window will appear. Fill out as shown below.

Click on the "Preferences" icon. Fill out as shown below.

From the "File" menu select the "Transfer Files" item. Select your file to be uploaded.

Press the "Advanced" button on the above screen to bring up the following window. Make sure "Host Record Size" is set to "256" as shown.

Press the "Specify Attributes" button on the above screen to bring up the following window. Fill out as shown below.

  3. Binary FTP Command Line Method:

    1. FTP - assumes your 3000 has an FTP service running.
    2. FTP to your 3000 and log on to the group and account where you want to put squisher
    3. Be sure to set up as a binary transfer mode.
    4. Transfer using the following command:
       put <local filename> cat; code=712; rec=128,,f,binary
(where <local filename> is the name saved by the browser)

  4. Other Methods:

Assumes you have already gotten the contribution to the HP 3000 as a 256 byte fixed-length record. The file name is 'cx' in this example.

    MPE: build cat;rec=128,1,f,binary;code=712;disc=20000
    MPE: fcopy from=cx;to=cat
    HP31900A.05.02 FILE COPIER (C) HEWLETT-PACKARD CO. 1990
EOF FOUND IN FROMFILE AFTER RECORD 49
    50 RECORDS PROCESSED *** 0 ERRORS
    END OF SUBSYSTEM
    MPE: listf c@,2
    ACCOUNT=  ASHTON      GROUP=  PUB
    FILENAME CODE ------------LOGICAL RECORD----------- ----SPACE----
SIZE TYP EOF LIMIT R/B SECTORS #X MX
    CX 128W FB 50 204800 1 64 1 8
    CAT 712 128W FB 50 20000 1 960 4 *

Contribution transfers:

The file created for you to transfer is a Squisher Catalog file: it contains a compressed copy of all the individual files needed for a contribution, or multiple contributions, maintaining the original group and account structure.

Also included within the Squisher Catalog file are stream jobs to build each account required. The files are in CSLBUILD.SYS by account name.

1. Transfer the A######C file from your PC to the HP3000 specifying 256 bytes and BINARY. 2. Build a new file, A######D in Catalog format: BUILD A000001D;REC=128,1,F;CODE=712;DISC=20000 3. Copy the binary into a Catalog format file: FCOPY FROM=A000001C;TO=A000001D 4. If you need to build accounts: HELLO MANAGER.SYS,PUB RUN SQUISHER.INFOBASE.CSLXL CATALOG A000001D LIST @.@.@ GET @.@ EXIT (edit files to include passwords) EDITOR T MAINLIB M FIRST !JOB MAINLIB,MANAGER/MGRPASS.SYS/SYSPASS K;E (Stream files to build accounts) STREAM MAINLIB 5. Signon as the MGR of each account to get files: HELLO MGR.MAINLIB RUN SQUISHER.INFOBASE.CSLXL CATALOG A000001D.PUB.SYS LIST @.@.@ GET @.@.@ EXIT
You do not need to create the account to retrieve the files. You can use any account to GET the files into, but you should create any groups necessary to avoid files being copied over each other. The CSLXL or CSL3000 will have often used groups and all contributions can be kept in this one account. You can simply leave one Catalog file in place and Fcopy any downloads into this one.

All databases and KSAM files are disembodied and JOBs are supplied that will recreate them (usually filenameK.JOB)

After you have completed item 5 above check the DOC group for instructions and the JOB group for required setup.

Documentation and library transfers:

If the file(s) you transfer are just compressed with Squisher and not Catalog files then they need to be treated differently.

   1. Transfer the file from your PC to the HP3000
       specifying 256 bytes and BINARY.
   2. Build a new file, n, in the right format:
       BUILD n;REC=128,1,F;CODE=757;DISC=20000
   3. Copy the binary into a Squished file format:
       FCOPY FROM=;TO=n
   4. RUN SQUISHER
       U n
       EXIT

Transferring SQUISHER:

   1. Transfer SQUISHER from your PC to the HP3000
       specifying 256 bytes and BINARY.
   2. Build a new file, SQUISHN, in the right format:
       BUILD SQUISHN;REC=128,1,F;CODE=PROG;DISC=232,1,1
   3. Copy the binary into a program file format:
       FCOPY FROM=SQUISHER;TO=SQUISHN
   4. PURGE SQUISHER
       RENAME SQUISHN,SQUISHER

Be sure that the group and account you put Squisher in has PH.
