Instigated by volunteer, Doug Mecham, the HP 3000 Users Group is founded in Palo Alto, CA with 26 attendees representing 22 companies from 3 countries

Doug Mecham is elected President of the first Board of Directors

First conference held in Chicago

First publication: HP 3000 Users Group - Information Exchange

First User Survey and Profile sent to each HP 3000 installation

1975
Volume 1 of HP 3000 Contributed Software Library

David Packard sends telegram congratulating the HP 3000 Users Group's success

1976
Regional Users Groups, RUGs are formed by local users and coordinated through the Board Of Directors

1977
HP 3000 Users Group is incorporated under direction of Board Of Directors Chairman William Bryden

First vendor exhibition at HP 3000 conference in Issaquah, WA

1979
HP 1000 Users Group is founded at the invitation of HP

Stuart Troop is elected first president of the Board Of Directors

Interface/1000 Newsletter started

First International HP 3000 conference in Lyon, France

1980
HP 1000 Users Group swells to 1000 members in 12 months

1981
Apollo Domain Users Society (ADUS) is founded by Apollo Computers

First conference at Brown University

1982
Affiliates Council formed

1983
First ADUS Executive Committee elected at San Francisco, CA conference

Michael Pallesen is elected President

1984
HP 3000 and HP 1000 Users Groups merge to become Interex

1985
First combined HP 3000 and HP 1000 conference in Washington, DC

1986
ADUS System Administrator Special Interest Groups (ADUS SYS Admin) established.

First conference in Chicago, IL

1987
Inception of ADUS Ring

1988
First Interex Computing Management Symposium (ICMS)

1989
HP acquires Apollo

Anniversary year at conference in San Francisco

Interex & NUGs create HP International Users Group Association (HPIUGA)

ADUS changes its name to InterWorks
