Interex Board Votes to Support Hewlett-Packard/Compaq Merger
Sunnyvale, Calif.March 11, 2002In a unanimous decision by its Board of Directors, Interex, the International Association of HP Computing Professionals, today announced that the organization intends to vote the shares of its holdings of Hewlett-Packard stock in favor of a merger between HP and Compaq.
"We believe our members will enjoy the inherent benefits of a marriage between HP and Compaq," said Bob Combs, Chairman of the Interex Board of Directors. "The merger of these two industry pioneers will give Interex members broader access to leading technology, R&D; programs, marketing, and service and support, enabling them to strengthen their computing platforms."
