This week the 19th Knesset was officially dissolved and the citizens of Israel face another round of elections which will take place on March 17, 2015.
The recent struggles within the government and the subsequent dismissal of Ministers Yair Lapid and Tzipi Livni led to an unprecedented intervention in the election process by Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein.

On November 9, attorney Yossi Fuchs, Chairman of the Legal Forum issued an urgent demand to the Attorney General's office calling for an investigation into bribery allegations by former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert against former Prime Minister Ehud Barak in a taped conversation.

The Jerusalem District Court handed down a verdict this week not to impose a prison term on former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert following his conviction. The significance of this decision is that hypothetically, Olmert is able to run for office again. This is the first time since the establishment of the state of Israel that a former prime minster has been convicted of a criminal offence. He was also convicted of breach of trust when he personally assisted clients of his good friend, attorney Uri Messer, when he served as the Industry Minister with bias and dishonestly.

(August 25, 2011) Today the Legal Forum for the Land of Israel applied to the Israeli Bar Association in a request that measures be taken against the Military Advocate General, as well as requesting the IDF Chief of General Staff remove the Major-General from his position, due to their involvement in diverting two IDF soldiers' trial.

Israel is currently facing a strategic problem which is threatening our national and Jewish identity and poses a threat to the personal security of all its citizens. Currently there are approximately 200,000 illegal workers (mainly from Africa) who are roaming our streets, looking for work and taking the livelihood of the residents of Israel. This problem is a global one, faced by many democratic countries.

During the recent elections, serious clashes took place between two of the strongest offices in Israel today: The Attorney General’s office and the Prime Minister’s office. The Attorney General fought relentlessly to extend the tenure of Attorney Sarit Dana, Chairman of the Assessors Committee and Deputy to the Attorney General on civil matters. Dana’s tenure was scheduled to end in December 2012.
